Profile: Kari is an author, travel photojournalist, speaker and publisher. Her first years were spent living with a remote tribe of Inuit in Northwest Greenland (her father was polar explorer Sir Wally Herbert). As a travel photo-journalist, her articles and photographs have been featured in The Independent, The Sunday Times, The Guardian, The Observer and Geographical and Traveller magazines, among many others. She has acted as judge for the Guardian Travel Writing Competition three years running. Her first book The Explorer’s Daughter, published by Penguin, was chosen by the BBC as Book of the Week and aired on Radio 4. Her latest book Explorer's Sketchbooks has just been released.
